The Delivery Zones feature helps you set specific areas with a fixed cost and time. Choose areas convenient to you for delivery and nearby cities.

Did you know? According to Flowwow, a well-organised system of delivery zones increases conversion by 10-15%. Why? Reduced delivery fees and waiting time are the key parameters the customer focuses on when choosing a seller shop.

So, why do we need delivery zones and what are their benefits:

  1. Delivery zones are essential for meeting platform requirements so that the shop can start working.
  2. The more delivery zones you cover, the larger your potential customer base. More people will see your products and be able to order from you.
  3. You can customise your delivery options based on time, area, and cost to meet the specific needs of your customers.

How do I add a delivery zone?

1. Open the web version of your account and go to the Profile section —> Delivery conditions —> Delivery Zones;

2. Click the Add Delivery Zone button;

3. Fill in the fields for the zone created:

  1. Distance from the shop — the radius of the created zone in kilometres. You can also edit this area manually on the map (to your right).
  2. Delivery fee — the cost of delivery in the selected area.
  3. Delivery time — the maximum time it can take to deliver to any point in this zone.

To finish adding a delivery zone, fill in the empty fields to see the zone displayed on the map. You will be able to edit its boundaries if necessary. Then press the Save button.

The Advanced Settings function helps to set unique delivery conditions for those customers who have purchased for a certain amount of money – for example, have a zero delivery fee or at a reduced cost within the selected zone.

If you want, for example, the delivery to be free for orders over 300 pounds, you need to add two conditions:

  1. First: from 0 to 300 pounds, where the delivery cost will be standard.
  2. Second: from 300 to any large number (one hundred thousand, a million, etc.) with a specified delivery fee of 0 pounds.
    If you don't sell high-ticket items, you're unlikely to get a large order. In that case, you can consider the second condition as “From 300 pounds to any amount”.

You can also regulate the number of orders coming to you using the Delivery Intervals tool. We all aim to make delivery as convenient as possible for the customer, but it can have a downside: customers may place more orders than you can fulfil. To avoid overwhelming the shop at such times, you can simply redistribute the workload so that delivery costs increase during busy hours, which prompts the customer to choose another time.

Switch the slider and set a comfortable number of orders for each interval, for example, three. Then, the fourth customer placing an order within the selected interval will have the option to pay slightly more for delivery or choose another time. Each interval can be regulated separately. For example, you can set a limit of 3 orders per 9 AM –10 AM interval and 5 for 10 AM –11 AM and 11 AM - 12 PM intervals.

What are the benefits of Delivery Zones?

  1. Flexible delivery settings on a map. You can not only specify the distance from the store in kilometres but also edit the scale or view of the selected area by changing the points' positions on the border of the zone, allowing you to select the desired zone more accurately. Besides adding areas within or outside the city, you can pick specific neighbourhoods.
  2. Unique delivery conditions for different zones. You don't just set the parameters for calculation but create your own logistics map with up to 7 delivery zones to assign. Each zone will have its unique boundaries, cost, and delivery time. When zones overlap, the fee will be calculated in order – for example, if Zones 1 and 2 overlap, the delivery cost will be set according to Zone 1.
  3. Automatic tracking not only for delivery time but also for product assembly. When a customer places an order in your shop, they can choose the nearest time or a specific later delivery interval within the shop’s working day. How the nearest time is created: the time of product assembly + the delivery time in the zone to which the address belongs to. For example, a customer orders a product at 12 PM with a manufacturing time of 30 minutes. The delivery address is in your Zone 2, where the delivery time is 60 minutes, totalling 90 minutes. Therefore, the nearest available delivery interval for the customer is 1-2 PM.
  4. Automatic calculation of the cost when placing an order without an address. In this case, you need to contact the recipient, agree on the delivery address and enter it into the order - the delivery cost will be calculated automatically, and the customer will receive a bill for the additional delivery payment. You do not need to issue an invoice manually. Important: enter the delivery address before changing the order status to “Courier is out for delivery" – otherwise, the automatic invoice will not be issued. We also wouldn’t recommend sending the order before the client pays the invoice. Unfortunately, if you deliver the order without payment for the delivery, you will have to count on the customer’s integrity.
  5. You will not receive orders in areas outside of your delivery zones. The customer won’t see your shop in the catalogue if the specified address does not fall within the selected zones. You regulate the geography of incoming orders. Note: If a customer sees your item in the collections (and doesn't have their address specified) or in Flowwow social media, you may receive an order outside your delivery zone. In this case, you can choose to deliver or refuse the order.

To Conclude:

The Delivery Zones tool helps you build processes based on your preferences, location features, and pricing policy.

Fixed prices, accurate calculations, and a configured logistics system give you complete control over the delivery process. As a result, you get high service ratings and happy customers.
